Doctor

  • Ken Clark,DVM


    A 1984 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Clark has been involved in private practice for the past 25 years. He is an owner of Care Animal Center where he practices companion animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Clark is a member of the AVMA, ALVMA, SEAVMA, and GDVMA veterinary medical associations. He is a past president of the GDVMA. He also a member of the Dothan Kiwanis Club where he has served as past president.  Dr. Clark and Becky are the proud parents of their girls Abby, Taylor, Caroline, and Kendall.

  • Robert Martin,DVM


    Dr. Martin is a 1980 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has been in private practice for the past 29 years and is an owner of Care Animal Center. Dr. Martin is a member of the AVMA, ALVMA, SEAVMA and GDVMA veterinary medical associations. He has served as past president of the Greater Dothan VMA and the Alabama VMA. Dr. Martin was selected as the Veterinarian of the Year in 2005 by the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association.  Dr. Martin currently practices companion animal medicine and surgery. He is a member of the Dothan Kiwanis Club and Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon. Dr. Martin and his wife Liz are the proud parents of their children Robert, Joshua, and Nanette.

  • William Duke, DVM , DVM


    Dr. Duke graduated from Mississippi State University in 1995.  He is a member of the American, Alabama, Southeast Alabama and Greater Dothan Veterinary Medical Associations.  He has served as president to the Southeast and Greater Dothan VMA.  Dr. Duke has been a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians since 1997.  He currently practices companion, avian, and exotic animal medicine and surgery.  He is also a member of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV) and the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV).  The Duke family currently has a dog-Puddin, a cat-Malawi and a bird-Aspen.  Dr. Duke and Elizabeth are the proud parents of John William, Abigail, Caleb, Elijah, Joshua & Gideon. They both are members of Mount Gilead Baptist Church.

  • Kirk Holland,DVM


    Dr. Holland practices companion animal medicine and surgery and is an owner of Care Animal Center.  He graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 2000.  He is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Alabama VMA, Southeast Alabama VMA, and the Greater Dothan VMA.  Dr. Holland currently serves on the Alabama VMA Executive Board and is past president of the Greater Dothan VMA and the Southeast Alabama VMA's.  He is married to Kathleeen are they have a son, Will.  They have a Golden Retriever named Aubie.  The Holland's are members of Logos Baptist Church and reside in Dothan.

  • Scott W Palmer


    Scott was born in Dothan, AL in 1978 and was raised there until attending Snead State Veterinary Technician School.  He graduated from Snead State Veterinary Technician School in 2002.  He has been in the Veterinary field for ten years.  Scott and his wife Vanessa live with 3 labs, Taylor, Cuz and Dixie, Annabelle a yorki-poo and his cats Nala, Ellie, and Peaches. He is currently the Kennel Manager and a veterinary technician.  Vetsuite_Img_57228

  • Carl F. Blackmon , Practice Manager


    Carl joined Care Animal Center in June of 2005 as Practice Manager. A 1961 graduate of Troy University with a degree in marketing and business, Carl retired from Woods Communications after 34 years of teleivision work.  He and his wife live in Dothan and are active in Mount Gilead Baptist Church.   • Jeannette Mead


    Ms. Mead and her husband, Fred live in Rehobeth Alabama with their three children, Jeremy, Jessa and Jerrad.  They have many rescued dogs, cats, an African Grey and a Cockateil.  Ms Mead has been employed at Care Animal Center since 2001.Vetsuite_Img_57230

Technician

  • Janet Duke , LVT


    Janet is a graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and The University of Georgia.  She relocated to Dothan following graduation in 1978.  After many years of clinical experience, Janet is uniquely qualified to provide pet owners with the highest level of professional care.  Janet was named Lay Person of the Year in 2005 by the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association.  In June 2006, she was chosen by Governor Bob Riley to serve on the Alabama State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners for a four year term.  Janet has two daughters; Kristi, 26 and Britni, 21.  Her family, her relationship with God, and Veterinary Medicine are the most important things in her life.  She calls Bainbridge, GA home and loves being a part of the Care Animal Center Team.  "Go Dawgs!"Vetsuite_Img_57231

  • Rita Campbell


    Rita is a 1975 graduate of Wallace Community College in Dothan.  She retired from 25 years of health care service as a RN in order to serve on the Care Animal Center Team.  Rita has been with CAC since 1998 serving in the capacity as a veterinary technician.  She has hands on experience with all farm animals, most companion animals and a wide variety of exotic animals.  She has two children and two grandchildren.  Rita stays busy with her grandchildren, three turtles, a Neopolitan Mastiff, Pit Bull and miniature horse.

  • Alisha Crutcher, LVT


    Alisha, a Licensed Veterinary Technician, joined our team in January, 2008.  Alisha graduated Magna Cum Laude from Jefferson State Community College with a major of Veterinary Technology in May, and then received her license in August, 2009.  She has over 7 years experience as a veterinary technician.  Alisha lives in Dothan with her beautiful daughter, Kara and her two furry kids, Buddy (Labrador Retriever) and Jacob (Mixed Breed).Vetsuite_Img_57233

  • Susan Bazemore , LVT


    Susie, a Licensed Veterinary Technician, joined our team in August 2008. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Athens Technical College, Athens Georgia in 2006 and completed her clinical rotations at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Susie received awards for clinical excellence and outstanding patient care during her clinical rotation at UGA . Susie and her husband, Ransom, are the proud parents of three well loved mutts (Missy, Zoey, and Penny) and a terribly spoiled Doberman named Josephine.

Reception

  • Amy Wetherhult


    Amy along with her husband and two daughters, Cassidy and Victoria relocated from northern Michigan to Dothan in 2007. Amy joined Care Animal Center in the summer of 2008 as a client relations/technician. Amy has a great love for pets and her extended family consists of six dogs, "Ranger", "Meikha", "CeCe", "Cooper", "Apache", and "Shelby". Amy invites her friends to visit Care Animal Center for the best pet care in the area.

Kennel

  • Ms. Tia Fales


    Tia was born in Dothan, AL and has lived here all her life.  She is the proud parent of 3 children, Brianna 14, Seth 12 and Say'lor 8. She joined Care Animal Center in 2004 and is a wonderful asset to the team.  She lives with seven cats, Sebastion, Stinker, Solomon, Shadow, Sasha, Serenity, Savannah and her American Bulldog, Sugar.


  • Mr. Brian Bentis


    Brian joined Care Animal Center as an Animal Care taker in 2005.  Brian is a 2006 graduate of Northview High School and attends Wallace College.  He enjoys participating in Jazz Band and other Band competitions and lives in Dothan with his family.  Brian shares his home with a Lab named Scooby, and three cats, Bently, Enzo, and Opel.  Brian can say "Here Kitty Kitty" in two different languages and is very proud of this accomplishment.
